I can tell you that a great buck saw feels good and confident in your hand.  It is balanced to reduce fatigue (especially in your fore arms!).  And it melts green wood without binding, twisting and cuts effectively on both the back stroke and fore stroke.  This is the saw that I have been looking for!  And it is Canadian made.
