Canada Blooms – 2016, It’s a Party
We are a month away from the biggest flower and garden show in Canada. That’s right, Canada Blooms begins on March 11 and you won’t want to miss out on this year’s festivities. The show is 20 years old this year – it’ll be a good one!
My buddy Denis Flanagan and I will be opening up the Unilock Celebrity Stage at 11am on Day 1. With two stages, there will be a whirlwind of information for you to choose from.
I would encourage you to check out the speaking schedule. There are far too many speakers and topics to go over in this blog but they have laid it out nicely on their website.

With so many extremely talented gardeners under one roof, you are guaranteed to learn something, even if you weren’t looking to. However, if you are on a quest for knowledge, I would advise you to check out the many workshops that will be taking place over the 10 days.
The schedule isn’t completely populated yet but you can check it out a few days before the show opens to nail down your options.
Whether you’re into photography, bouquetting (is that a word?), terrariums, or starting your own seeds, you’re sure to find something that interests you.
If you’re going to be getting there early, plan to check out one of the Morning Garden Tours. The only caveat here is that you have to book yourself in. There will be no crowds and you’ll get a guided tour from a Master Gardener or horticultural expert.
I would suggest not waiting this one out – get your time slot now as they do tend to run out quickly.
A Few Last Words
I say this every year: if you’re going to check out Canada Blooms, plan to be there for the day. Or two. Maybe even three! There is so much to see and do, it will be difficult to fit it all into one day if you’re interested in many aspects of the gardening world.
With that said, wear good shoes, bring a camera, and a notepad. Don’t weigh yourself down with heavy bags as I can guarantee you’ll pick up a few things to tote around before the day is out.
