Alternatives to Replace Impatiens

In my mid-April newsletter I asked what you plan to grow this year to replace impatiens.  The response was overwhelming and very inspiring.  I have compiled the majority of responses here to help inspire you in your garden this year.

Annuals for Shade: tuberous begonias, sweet potato vine, coleus, New Guinea impatiens, browallia, torenia

Annuals for Sun: borage, cherry tomatoes, Superbells calibrachoa, petunias, wave petunias, milkweed, zinnia, Dusty Miller, nasturtium, lobelia, wax begonias, geraniums, portulaca, sweet potato vine, cosmos, marigolds, zinnias, snapdragon, lantana, New Guinea impatiens

Perennial options: daylilies, Bloodroot, Russian sage, brown eyed Susan, Ligularia, lavender, Geranium Roxanne, variegated and red sedum, phlox, lupins, foxglove, peonies, lamium, lamb’s ear, vinca, creeping Jenny, Clematis, heuchera, shasta daisies, pinks, Hydrangea, astilbe, blanket flower
